Green Factory is expanding its operations in Central and Eastern Europe
The acquisition of Eisberg’s Polish factory has also been completed, marking the full integration of Green Factory and Eisberg. This acquisition represents another important milestone in Green Factory’s long-term strategy to become a leading player in the fresh and processed vegetable market in Central and Eastern Europe.
Green Factory, a top Polish producer and leader in the vegetable, salad, and fresh convenience food sectors, has finalised the acquisition contract for three Eisberg companies from Bell Food Group – in Poland, Hungary, and Romania. After obtaining all required regulatory approvals, the acquired entities have become part of the Green Holding Group, to which Green Factory belongs. With this acquisition, Green Factory’s revenue is expected to exceed PLN 1.3 billion. Green Factory, along with its foreign affiliates, will strengthen its position in 12 countries of the region, providing its products to millions of consumers daily from 8 factories in the CEE region, and hiring over 1,500 individuals.
Green Factory is a Polish family-owned company and a leading company of the Green Holding Capital Group, consistently developing for nearly thirty years. Its unique farm-to-table operating model encompasses the entire chain – from the company’s own farms in Poland and Italy (Green Crops) to innovative hydroponic crops (Smart Vegetables Innovations) and specialised logistics (GFL). With its integrated business model, the Group ensures comprehensive quality control, the safety of supplies, and the predictability of cooperation for the largest retail and restaurant chains.
“For nearly three decades, we have been developing Green Holding based on the farm-to-table model. Finalisation of this transaction allows us to exceed boundaries and achieve a scale we did not even think of a couple of years ago. We are becoming one of the leading companies in the CEE region in the categories of fresh vegetables, lettuce mixes, and ready-to-eat salads. For the entire Group, it is a milestone and the beginning of another growth stage, based on quality, innovation, and responsibility” – says Artur Rytel, Green Holding owner and CEO.
Fit&Easy and Primavega brands from the company’s portfolio are present in many CEE markets. Green Factory is also the strategic partner of McDonald’s, as well as several key retailers and HoReCa service suppliers. New production plants will strengthen the scale of operations and will serve as a pillar for further growth in the region. Green Factory emphasises that employees remain the company’s key assets – their experience, knowledge, and local identity will be preserved.
Finalisation of this transaction is a natural step in the growth strategy that Green Factory has been pursuing for years. Over the last couple of years, we have grown from a local producer to a regional leader operating in several CEE markets. This would not have been possible without the hard work of many people, building the strength and credibility of Green Factory and our consumer brands every day. We are effectively scaling our operations, seeking a balance between optimising what we already do well and exploring new markets, technologies, and products that open up new growth prospects for us, says Michał Wólczyński, Green Factory CEE CEO.
Pursuant to the contract with Bell Food Group, Eisberg plants located in Legnica, Poland; Gyál, Hungary; and Pantelimon, Romania, have joined Green Factory. This marks the next phase of the company’s growth, following previous acquisitions of entities operating in Ukraine, Lithuania, and Hungary.
Joined forces will allow for offering a wider portfolio, higher flexibility and safety of supplies, sustainably and responsibly.
